Consider this your mini wellness guide to Miami. I structured it as I just did exactly this itinerary for myself and left feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. You obv don’t have to follow it to a T but it includes some of my favorite tried-and-true self-care spots in the 305.
I’m really not one for retreats. I like to be on my own time. I like to order my own food. I like to curate my own workouts and self-care. To be honest, I’m really good at it so I do it myself. In fact, I like to believe that you don’t necessarily have to go anywhere for a retreat but you can cultivate them at home if you have a few hours in the day or less! But I did just have a chance to steal away to Miami for a couple days by myself, the first solo trip in years, and I unintentionally put together the most blissful 48 hours for myself— and I’m sharing it here! This one is specific to Miami but maybe I should do the same for NYC! Key things to remember, which you can take anywhere
-Start your day with green juice
-Follow food-combining (don’t combine animal protein and grains in one meal)
-Get outside in the fresh air and jump in ocean every day if possible
-Get at least 20 min of sunlight
-Opt for 1 self-care treatment per day: massage, body rolling, acupuncture, cupping, any form of body work (if at home, foam rolling or dry brushing works well!)
-Opt for 1 form of physical exercise: yoga, Pilates, anything to get your body moving and sweating
Day 1
If you’re coming from NYC, I like to take an early flight down so I land around noon or earlier. Carrying on is also key so you can head straight to the beach, no waiting.
Usually rooms are not ready so make sure your beachwear is accessible so you can quickly change and let them hold on to your luggage.
Noon - Order lunch via UberEats to your hotel lobby so it’s ready when you arrive and can take it to the beach/pool.
Lunch: Under The Mango Tree
Iced Kappi Almond Milk Latte (they make their own house milk, no gums or additives here)
Green Power Salad with Kale Quinoa Patty
Summer Rolls with Sprouts
Afternoon: Get Vitamin D and alkalinity / negatibe ions on the beach and jump in the ocean. This will neutralize the acidity picked up in the plane.
4pm, Vinyasa Flow Class at Ima Yoga - Perfect way to sweat off the plane. The afternoon classes are a bit quieter and less hot, so it’s a great way to ease into movement and flow. My favorite teachers are Dan, Natasha and Maddie.
5pm, Walk on boardwalk to enjoy the sunset.
Dinner: Lucali Miami
Fennel Salad (honestly I would get 2)
House Salad
Marco’s Vegan Pie (I like to get this well done, with no sauce, add whole hot peppers, almost like a foccacia pie and top it with both fennel salads. It’s perfection!)
Evening: Ginger Tea or Dandelion Tea
Day 2
8am, Wake
9am, Dan’s Power Flow Class at Ima Yoga
10:30am, Body Roll at Body Roll Studio
11am, Under The Mango Tree Juice & Coffee

Optional: Acai Bowl

1pm Lunch - Lilikoi Organic Cafe

Chicken Salad Side or Tuna Salad Side
Cole Slaw
4pm Lymphatic Drainage Massage at The Shape Spa for either the Shape Drainage Massage or Wood Therapy Sculpting Massage
6pm, Dinner - Blue Ribbon Sushi and Grill
House Salad
Hearts of Palm Salad

Kanpachi Usuzukuri
Roasted Shisito Peppers
Sashimi Deluxe (no rice) or Lamb Ribs
Bedtime - Ginger / Dandelion Tea
Day 3
