My friend and I a tradition of going to Body Roll and following it up with a delicious bagel from Apollo. It’s usually an off hour like 3pm which is the hack because there are no lines at that time. Our go to is getting the whitefish bagel, hold the whitefish because that style has allll the good green fixings like fresh dill, cucumber, pickled peppers. I opt for vegan cream cheese with mine and sometimes we will go wild and order a plain bagel w butter and jelly.
The secret to Apollo in my opinion is the crisp. I love how crunchy, chewy and satisfying each bite is and I find I get the same texture with Pacha buckwheat bread, my favorite bread of choice of late. It’s also super digestible and makes me feel great after I eat it. I also like to add sauerkraut for an extra fermented punch. You can really go wild with fixings but the key is keeping everything green like a garden on your bagel! (Or buckwheat toast.)
